What needs your attention

The console watches the tournament so you can watch the room.

The exception list

The panel at the top of the console shows only what needs somebody. When nothing does it collapses to one line and tells you what it checked, so a settled round is something you can verify rather than something you have to trust.

Anything red stops the next round. Anything gray is worth knowing and never stops anything — a missing decklist and an unsynced queue are both reports, not refusals. The person in the room decides.

What it watches

Tables with no result yet, and tables that reported but are waiting on players to agree — these are different problems and it says which.

Tables where two reports disagree. These always stop the next round, because pairing on a disputed result means pairing on the wrong standings.

Players who dropped while their table was still unreported, which their opponents are waiting on.

Decklists still outstanding, and changes on this device still waiting to sync.

Why the next round is unavailable

The button says why, rather than disappearing. If more than one thing is in the way it points you at the list.

Asking the event

"Ask the event" offers the questions this event can actually answer right now — what is holding up the round, why one player is above another, what a draw at a particular table would do to the standings, what somebody has picked up tonight.

Every answer is worked out by the same engine that runs the tournament, and says underneath it where the answer came from. It will not tell you something the event does not record, and it never changes anything — where there is something to do about the answer, it links you to where you would do it.

When it is not obvious

"Need help with this event?" at the bottom of the console answers from what your device already knows — which device holds authority, what is queued, what is blocking the round. It works with no signal, because nothing about it needs the server.

If that does not settle it, Copy diagnostics puts the whole picture on your clipboard to paste into an email. It carries the event, the round, this device’s sync state and the last ten actions by type — no player names and no contact details, so it is safe to forward.
